Former CBIOS doctoral student wins award

Catarina Silva, a former doctoral student in nanotechnology applied to natural products, in Health Sciences, under the partnership ULusófona/UAlcalá, was one of the winners of the “Premio Extraordinario de Doctorado” (2016-2017).

The PhD thesis entitled "Ligand-functionalized nanoparticles for targeted therapy of melanoma in situ", was developed in partnership with ULusófona-CBIOS, under the direction of Catarina Reis (FFUL) and Jesús Molpeceres (UAH), and co-direction of Patrícia Rijo (ULHT). The research work was also a collaboration between several institutions, such as the FCUL, FFUC, UNL, the UMinho and the Aalborg University in Denmark.
