Outline: A tender is open for the attribution of one Research Scholarship within the scope of the R&D Unit “Research Center for Biosciences & Health Technologies” (CBIOS), Universidade Lusófona, financed by “Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P.”/MCTES (FCT, I.P.),UIDB/04567 through national funds.

Type and number of scholarship(s) to attribute: 1 Fellowship

Recipients’ profile/category: Fellowship for a Master, destined for registered candidates or candidates that satisfy the necessary conditions for a registration in a study cycle leading to an academic degree or in a course not leading to an academic degree, at the time of signing the contract.

Eligibility of candidates: The following candidates are eligible for this competition: National citizens or citizens of other Member States of the European Union; Citizens of third countries; Stateless individuals; Citizens benefiting from political refugee status. 

Mandatory requirements of the candidate: Degree in Biology and Master’s degree in Oncobiology or related fields, with an average grade equal to or higher than 15 (on a scale of 0-20). Demonstration of productivity in national and international conferences and publications in the area of Cancer, preferably with a focus on glioma. Proven experience in cell culture, including three-dimensional (3D) models, as well as in cell migration assays, cell death and oxidative stress assessment in 2D and 3D cultures.

Workplace: The work will be carried out at the facilities of the “Center for Research in Biosciences and Health Technologies" (CBIOS), Lusófona University, under the scientific guidance of Professor Nuno Saraiva, who may then delegate supervision to another CBIOS researcher.

Duration: The scholarship has an initial duration of 3 months, starting on June 16th, 2025. The scholarship contract may eventually be renewed.

Monthly maintenance allowance amount:  The scholarship amount corresponds to € 1 309.64 based on the table of scholarships awarded directly by FCT, I.P., in the country, with payment made monthly by bank transfer. 

The selection criteria shall be as follows:

  1. Experience and training drawn from the analysis of the Curriculum Vitae (50%)
  2. Bachelor course grades and Master course grades (20%)
  3. Scientific production in the specific area (30%)

Each of the items (a) to (c) is rated with a score from 0 to 20.

Form of advertising/notification of results: The results of the evaluation proposed by the jury will be sent by email within 10 days after the deadline for submitting applications, with access to the written minute and the provisional classification list. After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the proposed decision (prior hearing of interested parties, in accordance with the Code of Administrative Procedure). The final decision will be made after the end of the preliminary hearing period. Candidates may file a complaint against this final decision within 15 working days (to the email address used for notification), or an appeal to the hierarchical authorities within 30 working days.

Deadline: The call is open from june 4th to june 13h of 2025.
