Call for the Award of 1 (One) Research Grant - MobiMAd@PT

Call for the award of 1 (one) Research Grant for a integrated master student or bachelor enrolled in a post-graduation course.

Under the Regulation of Research Grants of the Foundation for Science and Technology, IP, Regulation No. 950/2019, published in Diário da República, 2nd Series, No. 241, of 16 December 2019, of the Regulation of Research Grants of the University of Lisbon, Dispatch No. 6238/2020, published in Diário da República, 2nd Series, No. 113, of 12 June, republished by Dispatch No. 8061/2022, published in Diário da República, 2nd Series, No. 126, of 1 July 2022, and of the Statute of the Research Fellowship (EBI), Decree-Law No. 123/2019, published in Diário da República, 1st Serie, No. 164, of 28 August 2019, it is made known that a call, for the award of 1 (one) Research Grant for a integrated master student or bachelor enrolled in a post-graduation course, within the scope of the project 2023.11968.PEX titled “Enhancing Medication Adherence in Portugal: Implementation of Mobili®, an eHealth Medicine Dispensing Solution for multimorbidity Patients (MobiMAd@PT)”, funded by Foundation for Science and Technology I.P. (FCT), is open under the following conditions:

Scientific Area: Health Care Sciences and Services

Eligibility of candidates: Nationals or citizens of European Union member states, citizens of non-EU (third) countries, stateless individuals, and individuals holding political refugee status are eligible to apply for this competition.

Admission requirements: Candidates must have a degree or be enrolled in a post-graduation in Pharmaceutical Sciences, Medicine, Psychology, or other related Health Sciences fields. Fluency in Portuguese is a mandatory requirement. Candidates must reside in Portugal or be available to relocate at the earliest opportunity.

Preferred requirements: Preference will be given to candidates with:
- Research skills in data collection, analysis, and scientific writing, particularly in applied research contexts.
- Proficiency in tools such as Jamovi, SPSS, R, or NVivo.
- Excellent command of English and strong interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility to travel within Portugal for fieldwork.

Research Grant DurationThe research grant will last 13 months, non-renewable, starting in June 2025, under an exclusivity regime, in line with the FCT Research Grant Regulations.

Work planThe selected candidate will support the MobiMAd@PT project in WP2 and WP3, namely by assisting with participant recruitment, training pharmacists, data collection and analysis, and supporting scientific reporting. The fellow will conduct field visits, collaborate with the research team in preparing training materials, and provide specific support in therapeutic medication reviews.

Workplace and Scientific Guidance:The work will be carried out mostly at CBIOS – Universidade Lusófona, Lisbon, under the scientific guidance of Professor João Pedro Bernardo Gregório. The contracting entity is COFAC – Cooperativa de Formação e Animação Cultural CRL.

Amount of the monthly stipend:The monthly stipend is €1040.98, paid by bank transfer, according to the FCT fellowship table.

Evaluation and ranking criteria: 

The selection of candidates will be based on the following weighted criteria:

1. Previous Experience (40%): Evidence of research experience in relevant areas such as experimental studies, clinical studies, or observational studies, as well as participation in research projects.
2. Academic Background (30%): Classification of the candidate's Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Health Sciences or a related field.
3. Proactivity and Motivation (30%): Evaluation of the candidate’s motivation letter, focusing on their interest in applied research, alignment with the project objectives, and capacity for independent and team-based work.


Each criterion will be scored from 0 to 20, and the final ranking will be determined by the weighted sum of these scores. In case of a tie, interviews will be held to assess communication skills and project fit.

The letter should emphasize the motivation for applied research, the ability to work in a multidisciplinary and international team, and how the candidate meets the project’s requirements.
4. References: Contact information for two academic or professional referees (optional).

Form of publicity/notification of results: Candidates will be notified via email within 10 working days after the deadline. A 10-day prior hearing period will follow. Final decisions may be appealed within 10 working days (via complaint) or 30 days (hierarchical appeal).
