4th International Congress of the Portuguese Society of Physiology Held at Universidade Lusófona

On 8–9 October, Universidade Lusófona – Lisbon University Centre hosted the 4th International Congress of the Portuguese Society of Physiology (SPF), bringing together researchers, faculty members, students, and healthcare professionals from across Portugal and several other countries.

Researchers from CBIOS played an active role in the organisation and scientific committee of the congress, contributing to a high-level scientific forum for discussion, knowledge exchange, and collaboration on the latest advances in physiology.

The congress coincided with the week in which the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine laureates were announced, further highlighting the relevance of fundamental research to contemporary biomedical science. Discoveries in physiology are essential to understanding the mechanisms that sustain life, explaining disease processes, and opening new avenues for medical and therapeutic innovation.

In its message of appreciation, the SPF recognised the contributions of organisers, sponsors, speakers, and participants, highlighting scientific excellence, advanced training, and international cooperation as key pillars of the scientific community.

This 4th further strengthens the congress's position as an important forum for physiology in the Portuguese-speaking world and demonstrates the value of collaboration between institutions, researchers, and healthcare professionals in advancing scientific knowledge.

Universidade Lusófona congratulates everyone involved on their contribution to the success of the congress and to the continued development of scientific research.
